Here are 2 free middle mouse button software for Windows. Using these software, you can use a keyboard key to work as the middle mouse button or mouse wheel. That means you can scroll up and down webpages, open links, and do other things which are possible with middle button of mouse. This will be helpful when your mouse is not working or when you are using a laptop that doesn’t come with built-in middle mouse feature on its touchpad. Both the software work with the help of Numpad keys.

Apart from using a keyboard key as middle mouse button, you can also control mouse using keyboard. You can move mouse cursor to left, right, top, bottom side, and diagonally. Moreover, you will be able to do left and right clicks also.

Let’s check these free middle mouse button software available on this list.

NeatMouse

NeatMouse settings

NeatMouse is one of my favorite middle mouse button software on this list. There are three features that I like a lot. You can set a custom hotkey to activate/deactivate the software to use mouse wheel or middle mouse button using the keyboard. The second feature is you have the choice to select a particular key that will be used as the middle mouse button. And the third feature is you can set left shift or right shift key to use with middle mouse button key. All these features make it a very useful middle mouse button software.

Apart from using this software to press middle mouse button using the keyboard, you can perform other mouse functions. For example, you can select keys of your choice to press left and right mouse buttons, move mouse cursor down, right, up, and left. This is definitely a very good choice.

Mouse Emulator

Mouse Emulator

Mouse Emulator is a simple and handy middle mouse button software. Apart from simply using the keyboard key as the middle mouse button, it also lets you move the mouse cursor, perform left and right clicks. Numpad is used by the software to perform mouse functions. In Numpad, the key number “3” works as mouse wheel or middle mouse button. You can’t set a custom key so you need to use “3” key on Numpad. The rest of the Numpad keys are there to move the mouse cursor, do left and right clicks, etc.

This software doesn’t come with any help, interface, or menu. It is a portable middle mouse button and you need to run its mouse.exe application. The software runs in the system tray silently and lets you use middle mouse button using Numpad key “3”. To close the software, you can right-click its tray icon and then press “Exit” option.

The Conclusion:

Both of these free middle mouse button software are simply good. Still, I like “NeatMouse” software the most. The reason is it lets you set a custom hotkey to enable/disable the software as well as choose a key of your choice to work as middle mouse button or mouse wheel. There are some mouse gesture software also available to perform different tasks like open some application, Start menu, etc., but such software aren’t helpful to set some gesture to work as middle mouse button. Therefore, these software are handy. If you also know of some free software that is helpful to set a key on keyboard to perform mouse wheel and middle mouse functions, then share it with me and I will cover that software here.
