Costumes and pumpkins are the standard deal, but today, we will talk about something that will take your skills of scaring people to a new height, and they will be caught completely off-guard. That’s right, today we will be talking about an app that has a huge collection of sound effects that are so scary, they are guaranteed to haunt anyone for a long time!
Scary Sounds is a free Windows 8 app which has a truly fitting name to what it does. The app has literally hundreds of scary sound effects that you can play to creep and scare your friends and family, thereby serving as a perfect Halloween app. When you launch the app, you will be presented with a long list of scrollable scary sound effects, and clicking on a sound effect will play the sound. Scary Sounds works best when connected to powerful external speakers, as the sound effects in the app are truly HQ (high quality) and good speakers will accentuate the scariness of already-scary sound effects!

Using the Scary Sounds App on your Windows 8 device:
Using the Scary Sounds app is the easiest thing that you can do, probably even easier than your pre-school’s maths! When you launch the app, you will be presented with an interface which resembles the below screenshot.
If you look closely in the above screenshot, you are presented with a large list of sound effects like Evil Chants, Backwards Spell, Ghost Laugh, Asylum, etc. Simply clicking on any one of these will start the playback of the sound effect that you just clicked on. You can scroll to the right to reveal even more scary sound effects! This app works best if you use high quality external speakers, because the sound effects sound even more realistic and scarier when you do so!
The app does not have any control bars (simply because they aren’t required at all), and does not support docked view, which in my opinion, is the only drawback that this app has. Other than that, this is a perfect app for Halloween to give your friends and family the ultimate scare!
