Groove is a free iPad music player app which comes with Smart Playlists and gesture controls. The Smart Playlists is a unique and cool feature of this iPad music player app. This feature automatically creates playlist of songs depending on your music preferences. In short, the Groove continues to become better and smarter with regular use.
It also comes with the feature of automatic Last.fm scrobbling, with no need of connecting to iTunes. The other feature includes a classic look UI, information about artist via Last.fm, and automatic organization of songs on the basis of tags. The other feature is auto-download of album arts for songs who don’t have it.
Using Groove iPad Music Player App:
When you launch the Groove app, it will scan your music library. On completing the scanning process, you will see the interface as shown in the screenshot below.
You can see that the basic music playback control keys are at top, the current songs list is on right, and the currently playing song is on the left. Currently, the songs are sorted as per Artists but you can tap on it to get the drop down menu and sort as: Albums, Tags, Playlists, and Settings.
You can also tap on any song’s name to know about the artist and read about him. The artist info is displayed via Last.fm, but the app shows only brief info.
If you want to view the full music player interface, then you simply need to tap on the big album art on the left side. It will take you to the main music player interface shown in the screenshot below.
The other cool feature of the app are the gesture controls. You can use following gesture controls:
- Swipe up and down to increase and decrease volume.
- Swipe left and right to to go previous and next song.
- Tap once with two fingers to play/pause the song.
Groove app also has lock screen music playback controls so that you can continue enjoying your music without unlocking device again and again.
