Flickr is a popular online photo management and sharing platform where users can store their photos and albums in original resolution. Till now, users could upload an unlimited number of photos on Flickr under 1 TB free storage. But, after the recent acquisition, Flickr is going to end the 1 TB free storage in favor of 1,000 photos limit. Starting from January 8th, 2019, free users won’t be able to upload photos over 1,000 photos limit. If existing free users have more than 1,000 photos in their library, from February 5th, 2019, Flickr will start deleting their photos from oldest to newer until it reaches 1,000 photos.

In this article, I covered 8 alternatives to Flickr with free unlimited photo storage. If you have over 1,000 photos on Flickr, you can migrate to these services and keep all your photos safe. There are multiple ways to download your photos from Flickr. You can use third-party tools like Bulk Flickr Downloader to download your photos, or you can download your Flickr data from the Account section under Flickr Settings. From there, you can create an archive of all your Flickr data including photos, videos, account settings, etc. Depending on your Flickr library, from a couple of minutes to an hour or so, you’ll get an email when your archive is ready to download. The data in the archive won’t be organized as per your Flickr library so, consider other options if you don’t want to re-organize all your Flickr data.
