Lightscreen can be set to run on Windows startup and minimized to system tray for easy access. It supports multiple image formats including JPG, BMP, and PNG. Apart from that, this free screen capture software allows you to choose the desired location on your system to save the screenshots.

Capture Screenshots with Lightscreen:

When you launch Lightscreen, a small window will appear that allows you to take screenshots easily. As I have told earlier, Lightscreen operates in three different modes: Screen, Window, and Area.

If you choose the “Screen” mode, the whole desktop screen will be captured. If you choose the “Window” mode, the current window will be captured on which you are working. And if you choose the “Area” mode, you can capture the desired screen area by selecting it through mouse drag. Recently a new feature has been added to this free screen capture software to use magnifier in Area mode.

You can click on the “Go to Folder” option in the Screenshot drop-down to open the output folder.

You can click on the “Options” button from the program interface and adjust settings for this free screen capture software, including hotkeys. This will let you easily capture screenshots using keyboard shortcuts.
