One of the big problems I have with Facebook is information overload. I keep getting too many irrelevant messages, most of which are application messages. I just want to use Facebook as a medium to stay connected with my friends.

F.B.Purity is a free software that gets Facebook to what it should be – just a simple medium to stay connected with friends. It removes all application notifications, and other quiz messages from your Facebook home page, so that you can just keep track of actual updates from your friends. It also lets you whitelist the applications for which you want to see the updates, and blacklist those that are not already blacklisted by F.B.Purity.

Apart from that, F.B.Purity also removes unwanted sections from Facebook home page, like it removes the ads section from Facebook. And, it lets you control the font size of text displayed on Facebook home page.

F.B.Purity works on Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, and Opera. F.B.Purity was originally created as a Greasemonkey script, but now has been converted to plugins for most of the browsers. So, depending on the browser you  are using, you can install corresponding plugin. Developer has setup very nice download and installation instructions for F.B.Purity here.

F.B.Purity is one of the best software that makes using Facebook fun again. You can also check out Facebook photo uploaders to easily upload photos to Facebook.
