Evri is a free news reader application for iPad. Although, there are many other applications such as Flipboard, Zite and Pulse which have been providing the same service for quite a long time. However, Evri is a bit different application from the contemporary news readers in the sense that Evri is the first news reader app that sorts news by topic. This excellent newsreader runs through approx. 15,000 news sources and turns the unorganized data into topic-based channels.

With Evri, topics appear on your iPad screen as thumbnails. As soon as you select a topic by tapping, one story will appear with an image right next to it. Plus, all the trending news for that topic will appear as featured articles. It also displays news related to that particular topic.
Major topics include top stories, US & World news, Sports, Entertainment, Business and Technology. In order to read news about a particular major topic, select a topic from the colored bar given at the top of the screen. Each major topic has in-built sub-topics. For instance, If you select “Business”, you will view various topics such as unemployment, Housing Market and so on. If you want to add any topic as your favorites, just start following it. All the articles related to your favorite topic will be added to your Favorites.
However, in order to read the entire article, you need to visit the respective website because, Evri does not allow you to read the entire article with the thumbnail screens. Hence, just tap the “Read” button and you will be quickly taken to the respective website from within the app. And when you are finished with your reading the entire article over the website, just close the page and it will take you back to the same thumbnail screen. In addition, you can also optionally check what you have earlier read by tapping on “History” section.
