I was looking around some free software to update Twitter status by emails, and found some really cool services like Btween.Us, TwitterAlerts, and TweetSwitch. During my search, I also came across a free service called Posterous. When I started reading about it, I was absolutely amazed what all Posterous lets you do by just sending email.
Posterous is a free service that lets you post things online by just using email. To post anything online, you send an email to post@posterous.com from your favorite email client. Posterous will post contents of that email online, and will reply you back with a link for that.
The above description seems quite simple. However, the interesting part is how intelligently Posterous interprets your email message, and does different things with different types of objects in your email.

If you send photos in your email, Posterous will post them online nicely with your content. If you send multiple photos, Posterous will create a nice slideshow out of them.
Music in Email

If you post URL of video sharing services like YouTube, Posterous will replace that URL with the actual video. So, if you want to include some YouTube video in your content, just add URL of that to your email, and Posterous will take care of the rest.
Post to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, WordPress
If you post some content on Posterous, Posterous can automatically post that content to your social networking sites as well. Posterous supports following services at time of writing of this article:
- Flickr
- Tumblr

- Livejournal
- Xanga
Posterous is completely free, and you do not even need to create an account to try Posterous. I think service like this is really useful for those who want to share something with friends and family, but do not want to create separate blog. Just send an email to Posterous, and your content is posted online.
Posterous also lets you password protect your content, so that only those can see the content with whom you have shared the password.
I am absolutely amazed by Posterous. Posterous has ended up giving a completely new meaning to what all can be done by email. This is definitely the easisest blogging I have ever seen.
